If you are involved in any form of fitness or bodybuilding, you will probably have come across the term ‘cutting’ at some point, and may well have found yourself wondering what it actually means.
I think a lot of people assume that cutting is the same as losing weight, but that’s not strictly true.
Cutting basically refers to the act of burning fat whilst retaining as much muscle mass as possible.
So unlike traditional weight loss where you are just looking to lose as much weight as possible from your body, in this instance the goal is to lose weight without losing any of your hard-earned muscle.
That’s why bodybuilders will often start a new cutting cycle in the weeks and months leading up to a big competition.
Indeed many bodybuilders will first of all go on a bulking cycle to gain as much muscle as they possibly can, even if it means gaining a little bit of excess body fat in the process, before embarking on a new cutting cycle to get rid of this fat and create a honed and ripped physique.
I know that this will be totally obvious to most people, but I just thought I would write this article and point out the proper meaning of the word ‘cutting’ because this will go some way to explaining why supplements such as Anvarol, Clenbutrol and Winsol, that will all help to burn fat and retain muscle mass, are so much more popular with bodybuilders than ordinary diet pills.
