Dorian Yates is a professional bodybuilder from the UK who won IFBB Mr Olympia for six consecutive years between 1992 and 1997. As a result of this, he has fans all over the world because he is obviously one of the most successful bodybuilders of all time.
However he is famously one of the few bodybuilders who has openly admitted that he has used steroids in the past.
So it is always interesting to hear his opinion on various different aspects of the bodybuilding industry, which is why I want to share with you this video interview that has recently been posted online:
In this video, Dorian Yates discusses steroids, testosterone and ageing, and it’s really interesting because he discusses why people start taking steroids in the first place, and why it is virtually impossible to give them up once they do.
He also explains how he managed to stop taking steroids back in 1997, and points out some of the effects that steroid use had on his body, one of which was a low testosterone level.
Finally, he discusses some of the health problems that can arise as a result of suppressed testosterone production, and explains why he continues to use testosterone replacement therapy now that he has reached middle age.
So as I say, it’s quite an interesting video because you get a brief insight into the life of Dorian Yates, and start to understand how steroids have affected his life.
